Roatan

I was blessed with the opportunity to go to the Carribean island of Roatan this weekend. Roatan is one of the most beautiful places in Honduras. The trip was a school staff retreat; we had time for laying on the beach, spiritual time, and sleeping a lot. It was great to hang-out with the staff outside of school.
Some of the Hondurans taught us a form of rummy. In the game you can play at anytime, but you can't pick up a card unless you can play it right away. I will teach it to you mom and dad when I come home.
I came back to school with a fresh mindset and ready to teach! Things are going well.

Many things to catch up on!!

It is hard to believe that 2nd partial of school has past and I have not blogged. During 2nd partial, my students have become more difficult. They know my weaknesses and they are learning how to get away with things. It is very challenging! On the bright side, I am developing relationships with them and they are starting to become easier to joke with and impact. It would be awesome for prayers of patience and love for my students.
One thing that I have realized teaching for the past 5 months is that it is important to make time for myself because most of my life is not for me anymore. Some of the things that I have found to do in Tegus are art, exercise, learning Spanish, and hanging out with friends. I am hoping in the near future to go to my first futbol game.
It is hard to be away from home. There might be exciting things around the world, but it is not quite the same without the people you love!!
